The school year is divided into two semesters. Each semester students will do four elective subjects which will run for three periods per week. Over the year students complete eight elective subjects. From those eight electives students must do Health and choose at least one elective from the Arts. |

Victorian Essential LearningStandards
The Year 9 curriculum is organised around the strands and domains of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. The Essential Learning Standards are a framework based on three strands. These strands are:
The Essential Learning Standards require an interwoven approach to curriculum across the three strands and their learning domains. All the strands and domains include knowledge, skills and behaviours, and are essential to student learning.

Year 9 ElectivesStudents who have lived in Australia for five years or less and speak English as a Second Language must choose ESL as an elective in both semesters.
