The Band performs regularly at school and in the local community and has a record of touring to various parts of Australia including, Tasmania, Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We perform a variety of music from Classical transcriptions, Musicals, and modern music for concert band. There are aprox. 40 members in the band which includes brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. We also break up into a Jazz band, brass quintet and percussion ensemble.

For our tour of Europe in 2005, we have two one hour programs; one will be an Australian story with a powerpoint presentation featuring music to highlight the history and culture of Australia. Such pieces as Swingin' Matilda, The Man from Snowy River, Australian Folk Montage, The Loaded Dog would be in this program. The second program would be suitable for outdoor performances and include Barnard Castle March, St Florian Choral, Loch Lomond, Selections from Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Zoot Suit Riot, and Mambo No. 5.
Band Director, Bill Scott, has been teaching music for 35 years (14 years at S.H.S.) He plays trumpet, trombone, and Tuba and performs regularly with "Blasserfliegen" brass ensemble, The Lazy River Superband, and the High Time Jazz Band.
